What is Hope?
Hope is an amazing word…
I absolutely LOVE this word, it only has 4 letters in it, however it has 1000’s of meanings attached to it!
When I started this in October 2011, I had no idea how I was going to share my message of Hope, all I knew was that I had to get it out there. What was my goal? My goal was to make a difference. Who did I want to make a difference with? That answer was easy, it was with as many young people as possible. Today my story is not only shared with students, but mainly with the hundreds of women that find themselves incarcerated in our federal prisons.
God gave me the word Hopeaholic in a dream October 29, 2011 for a reason. Never in my wildest dreams would I ever imagined I would of had the courage to do anything with it, BUT I did. My life again had become so purposeful. I have been humbled and have learnt to trust that everything we experience in life is for a reason.
April 16, 2012 I was blessed (thanks to my amazing husband) to attend Oprah’s Lifeclass Tour here in Toronto. Ironically that evenings class was called “The Power of Forgiveness”. Forgiveness had been something I’d been struggling with and really wanted to understand, in it’s entirety. So was it a coincidence I was at this show? Absolutely not! I was blessed with a ticket that allowed me to sit in the very first row. I couldn’t of gotten any more close and personal with Oprah and her many guests.
All of the messages that evening touched my heart and were life changing for me. I felt like every guest speaker was speaking to me directly. Whether it was Tony Robbins, Bishop T.D. Jakes or Iyanla Vanzant they were all confirmations to me that I was on the right track and no matter how scary things were, I just needed to move forward and give life to what I believed!!
So here I am now & what is my purpose you ask?
Well, its become very clear to me that it’s my responsibility to share my message of Hope and continue to strive to make a difference to whom ever I can. In my heart I know that my message won’t reach everyone………. and that’s ok, as I’m committed to helping change the lives of as many women & men as possible….. and that’s all that matters.
Your skin color, race, where you live, what you have or don’t have doesn’t matter, when you understand & live your life with HOPE, your life will CHANGE!
I’ve always believed that once you make a decision to do something, people, resources, and opportunities will present themselves that will enable you to accomplish what you need to do, and for that I am very blessed and thankful.
So get ready for HOPE to take your life on a new and exciting ride!
